Monroe Students Get Hands-On Learning At New "The 'Ro Studio"

A new message is broadcasting across Tulsa – anchored from The ‘Ro Studio – students at Monroe Demonstration Academy and it’s feeder-pattern schools will have the opportunity to learn new skills and express themselves like never-before.

The ‘Ro Studio is a multi-camera live-moment capture studio that allows students to broadcast live and recorded videos across multiple social media platforms to friends and family around the world.

“It’s a great opportunity to create another pathway for kids to be able to share their voice and to share their experiences with the public,” said Monroe Demonstration Academy principal Robert Kaiser.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Ed Darby Foundation in the Summer of 2021 – the ‘Ro Studio burst in action this fall and is already being used by students!

Staff and students are planning to launch a reoccurring news variety show that will feature student made videos, projects, academic and extra-curricular accomplishments, as well as community happenings. Be sure to follow the Monroe Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube pages for updates and information on the coming broadcasts.

“We’ve never had something like this before,” said Kaiser. “We’ve never had an opportunity where kids have had a space to share their thoughts, their feelings, their ideas, their stories – in a way that people from the community can consume.”

The ‘Ro Studio will introduce students to basic camera skills, video and photo editing, on-camera speaking, as well as writing, planning, and producing video content for their desired platforms.

It’s a place to create, it’s a place to dream, it’s a new opportunity for Monroe students to amplify their voice and expand their reach.
