Getting to School
We look forward to seeing your child at school on time every day this year!
Our campus has two buildings: the East Building (toward N. Lewis Ave.) and the West Building (toward N. Victor Ave.). We will open the doors to both buildings at 8 a.m.
Attendance
The school day begins at 9:15 am. After this time, students are counted as tardy. It is important for the success of our scholars that they are present in class at the beginning of the day. Likewise, it is important that students are at school the full day to ensure they have access to their teachers and the curriculum to help them achieve their academic goals. We ask that families are mindful of doctors appointments and try to keep them scheduled to after school or during breaks from school. We know this isn’t always possible so please ensure that you bring a doctors note to have an absence excused.
Bus Routes
We provide bus transportation for:
- Non-transfer elementary students living 1.5 miles or more from their school; and
- Non-transfer middle school or high school students living 2 miles or more from their school.
Buses may arrive up to 15 minutes after the scheduled stop time. Students should remain at the stop up to 15 minutes after the scheduled stop time. If students wait longer than 15 minutes, call 918-833-8100.
All students who ride the bus will be dropped-off and picked-up at the one-way entrance labeled as “Bus Only.”
- 6th grade students should walk to the Monroe East Building and go to the cafeteria
- 7th and 8th grade students will walk to the Monroe West Building and go to the cafeteria for breakfast before going straight to their first hour class.
- Our students with special needs will be dropped off and picked up at the Monroe East Building. This entrance includes a ramp for wheelchairs.

Tardies
Tardiness is not accepted. A scholar is considered tardy if he/she is not in his/her class when the bell rings at 9:15am and when they are not in their designated class during the school day. When scholars are tardy and enter a class, they disrupt the learning process of the other scholars. Please ensure your scholar is on time, every day, and all day. If your child is tardy, they must check in the office before reporting to class.
One criteria of a scholar’s success in school is regular and punctual attendance; frequent absences may lead to poor academic work, lack of social development, and possible academic failure. No single factor may interfere with a scholar’s progress more quickly than frequent tardiness and absence.
If a student arrives late to a class, the teacher will let them in and mark them tardy in PowerSchool. If a student accrues 3 or more tardies in a week, a student will receive a summons for P.E.A.C.E. after-school detention. P.E.A.C.E. will take place after school on Monday’s and students will have access to the activity bus if a parent/guardian is unable to pick them up. P.E.A.C.E. hours will run from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm. If a student fails to serve their after-school detention summons, they will serve a full day of in-school detention.
